At Esurance, we value hard work. Dedication. Commitment. And associate Kay Green is all of those things.

Find out more about Kay’s journey and how she joined the Esurance family.

Big transitions

Kay’s Esurance journey began in 2006.  After serving in the military for eight years, she left the Department of Insurance and joined our New York office.

Transitioning from military life to civilian life is no easy task. Kay had to adapt to changes big and small in everything from her daily routine to her career. Shortly after, she realized that working at Esurance would be a great professional pivot. And it would also help her transition smoothly in other aspects of her life too.

Confidence leads to success

Kay felt welcomed at Esurance from the beginning. She started in Claims. And it was in Claims where she discovered her passion: tech improvements. Showing an affinity for it, Kay worked her way up to the Manager, System Quality role she holds today.

Esurance is pleased to have been a part of Kay’s growth and personal journey. “Being a woman of color, Esurance embraced my differences with the Diversity and Inclusion program efforts that are offered. And I have been fortunate enough to have an amazing story where everyone encouraged and acknowledged my hard work and dedication.”

From mentee to mentor

The fact that more senior employees at Esurance took an interest in Kay and her career inspired her to do the same for others. “Growing up at Esurance,” she says, “I had the opportunity to learn and develop my skills in multiple facets of the insurance business and met with so many great people who quickly became my mentors. I had the opportunity to travel across the country where I got to know our Senior Leadership team and now have the opportunity to serve as a mentor to others.”

Teamwork makes the dream work

One key to this success: collaboration. As Kay so eloquently puts it, “At Esurance we embrace our core values and believe that there is no ‘I’ in team. Having great partners and leaders, we are able to achieve our goals by embracing our differences and together creatively solve problems for our customers. I have taken advantage of the multitude of training programs offered, tuition reimbursement, and charitable donation efforts organized by our company for local communities.”

Being part of a team can often lead to personal and professional successes. “I am sharing my story with you so that you know there are organizations where you are empowered to learn and grow and become successful!”
