At Esurance, we take the needs of the communities we serve seriously. So when we heard about a mother of three kids from Janesville, WI who was in need of a car, we knew we wanted to help.
Katherine McClure is a single mom of three energetic boys — ages 8, 6, and 4 — all survivors of severe domestic abuse. Recently, the local YWCA Transitional Housing program has been helping Katherine and her boys with housing and child care while Katherine goes to work. But since 2015, the family has been relying on public transportation to get them from point A to point B.
That’s why Esurance and Recycled Rides worked with Gerber Collision and Glass in Janesville to provide Katherine and her family with a restored 2013 Nissan Sentra. It had been previously deemed a total loss, but was repaired to like-new status to make it a little easier for Katherine to get back on her feet.
Alongside Recycled Rides and Gerber Collision and Glass, we had the privilege of gifting Katherine with her new wheels. We wish her the best of luck, and we were proud to play a small role in helping her family thrive.
