If it wasn’t for a little thing called the computer, we might still be making mix tapes. Find this. Pause this. Play this. Eject this. Write this.
It’s like the days before Esurance Express Lane — you had to find a bunch of documents just to get a car insurance quote. Now, Express Lane finds your driving info with just one click.
Saving time to be nostalgic. About the days before Express Lane.
Thank you, insurance for the modern world™.
The Esurance commercial song
You may have noticed our latest commercial song is a departure from our other spots. As much as we love Chet Atkins’s “Jam Man,” we thought our newest commercial needed something more reminiscent of the mix tape era. And what better song than “Situation” by Yaz? (Admit it, you sing along whenever it comes on.)

Wow, there really is a mix tape museum. Learn something new every day…
Seriously, though, that VoiceOver job on the new commercials rocks! It gets my attention every time, and as a VO professional I’m hard to impress.
I could be wrong, but it sounds a lot like “Jim” from the office. He is played by John Krasinski, and after doing some research, I’ve found that he’s narrated commercials for several firms, one of them being Esurance.
Hey Jessica, we exist. Thanks for the shout out!
Mix tapes are wonderful, I can't think of anything bad about them! You had to put your own time and effort into them, they were personal. Just copying some MP3s onto a hard drive doesn't even compare. However, there is no benefit to putting lots of time and effort into finding car insurance quotes, and you can't make a cool cover for it either :)
