Here at Esurance, we’ve always been big fans of Cyber Monday. A day dedicated to online shopping? Well, that’s right up our alley.

As a company born online, we understand the promise of technology to make life simpler and easier. In fact, it’s a promise that’s at the core of everything we do to make insurance as painless as possible.

But we also understand that while technology does have the capacity to improve many aspects of our modern lives, it’s not the cure for everything. Some things just require a good old-fashioned human touch.

Esurance is volunteering from coast to coast

 

With offices in Dallas, Tampa, Rocklin, and our headquarters in San Francisco, we’ve been impacted immensely by this year’s hurricanes and fires. Many of our friends, neighbors, and coworkers have personally dealt with the devastation.

It is, of course, the nature of our job to be at our best when things are at their worst. And we were extremely proud of the work done by all our teams — our Rapid Response claims team, in particular — to help our customers get back on their feet as quickly as possible.

But today, we’re taking that one step further by sponsoring a day of giving for our associates in impacted communities

On a day known for online shopping, many of our associates are going offline for a day to volunteer. Through coordinated efforts, we’re coming together as a team to roll up our sleeves and help out at food banks and volunteer centers in those places hit hardest.

Getting hands-on to help out

 

By heading out into our communities to lend a hand, we’re hoping to make a difference in ongoing recovery efforts. Because more than just settling claims as quickly as possible, we understand the power of human connection after a loss.

And we also understand that sometimes life takes more than modern-world technology. Sometimes the best solution is to step away from our laptops and phones, roll up our sleeves — and pitch in.

Update: Making an impact

 

With volunteers from across the Esurance family, we united to make a difference. One volunteer group from our San Francisco office packed over 22,000 lbs of food (that’s over 20,000 meals!) to help members of our community affected by the North Bay fires.
