Share the Love: Esurance and The Trevor Project

As a supporter of Pride events from coast to coast, and a staunch advocate of diversity and inclusion, both in the workplace and in the world, Esurance is pleased to work with The Trevor Project this year. The following post, detailing our current partnership, was provided by David McFarland, Interim Executive Director and CEO of The Trevor Project.

If you don’t know much about us, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Our mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including our nationwide, 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, digital community, and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone.

And you can help make a difference. How? By doing something you probably already do a half-dozen times a day: clicking your “Like” button. Through the current campaign with Esurance, if you visit and click “Like,” Esurance will donate $10 to our cause (up to $50k).

Working together, we can build a brighter future — a future where the possibilities, opportunities and dreams are the same for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Help us spread the word and share the love by visiting All it takes is a single click to make a difference. Just “Like” or “Share” the page and let’s see how far a little love can go.

At campaign end, Esurance will donate any remaining balance necessary to reach our $50k goal.

Sasquatch, SCVNGR, Success

This past Memorial Day weekend, more than 100 artists and 100,000 people descended on the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, for the 10th annual Sasquatch! Music Festival. And what a weekend it was!

As a long-time sponsor of the event, Esurance was also in attendance. Our festival aficionados hunkered down at the Esurance Guest Services Tent to connect with throngs of enthusiastic music fans. We answered questions, gave directions, offered tips, and handed out cool stuff to the thousands of Sasquatchers who stopped by.

In keeping with our Gorge-greening initiatives, we also rewarded carpoolers with swag bags and festival essentials. Carpoolers came to the Esurance Guest Services Tent from campsites far and wide to create elaborate posters that touted their carpooling pride. Check out a few of our favorites.

And the good times didn’t stop there. This year, we teamed up with SCVNGR to create a special game just for the festival. Players could check-in on their mobile devices and complete green-themed challenges all around the Gorge. They recycled, snapped photos, told us about their Sasquatch experience, and shared their game progress with their friends on Facebook and Twitter. We thanked them with prizes like Sasquatch Survival Kits, VIP upgrades, and tickets to future Gorge events.

Though we were hard at work most of the weekend serving the good people of Sasquatch, we managed to squeeze in some fun too. Here are a few highlights:

  • The Foo Fighters
  • An elaborate and colorful performance from the Flaming Lips
  • Reggie Watts’ theories on why great music comes from places with “unfavorable weather”
  • Ratatat’s avian-themed set visuals
  • Matt & Kim’s Biz Markie break
  • (Chk Chk Chk) covering Prince
  • Intimate sets with Foster the People and The Decemberists at the Acoustic Tent

Check out our Facebook page for photos!

Thanks to everyone who shared the experience with us. And if you weren’t able to make it, well, there’s always next year!

Esurance Will Become Part of the Allstate Family

Esurance joined the Allstate family in October 2011. Find out what being an Allstate company means for our customers.

As you may have heard, Allstate announced that it will acquire Esurance from our current owners, the White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd. As a company that’s grown to serve more than 750,000 drivers in the last 10 years, this is exciting news here at Esurance and great news for our customers as well.

The acquisition, which we expect to close this fall following regulatory approvals, will provide Esurance with significant opportunities to continue to grow. It will also enable us to offer increased benefits and services to our policyholders while continuing to provide the innovative and award-winning customer experience that we’re known for.

The services our customers most appreciate from us won’t change: convenient automated billing, 24/7 access to our customer service reps and website, one-click comparison quotes, and our industry-leading RepairView™ online repairing monitoring service.

Even after the acquisition closes, Esurance will continue to operate as a distinct brand from Allstate. The price customers pay for their car insurance with Esurance won’t be affected since the Esurance and Allstate brands will maintain separate pricing structures. (It’s also important to note that, due to this distinction, Allstate agents will not be able to provide any support to Esurance customers.)

Additionally, Esurance customer claims will continue to be handled with the same focus on efficiency and expediency that we have today. Customers will still be assigned Esurance dedicated claims reps and will be able to view all the information regarding their claims on the Esurance website or from their smartphones.

So even though our offices are abuzz with excitement these days, our main priority remains the same: to continue providing the very best in car insurance by innovating the way people do business, both on and offline.

We’ll keep you up to date as we progress through the acquisition and especially as we start to roll out new products and services designed to exceed your expectations of what an insurance company should be.
